Episode 155 – Dale’s Pale Ale

Canned beers are finding themselves a niche in the craft beer world for a variety of reasons – cans are cheaper to produce, easier to recycle, better for the environment, and cheaper to ship (less fuel). Not to mention, zero light can reach beer in a can. Plus, with new water-based liners, aluminum will never touch beer. All that said, Oskar Blues in Colorado deals almost exclusively in canned beer, and Dale’s Pale Ale constantly tops the charts – not for best canned pale ale, but for best pale ale, period. We love this beer, and with it being fall and tailgating season, put down the cheap canned beer and pick up some craft-brewed canned beer! Dale’s Pale Ale = winner, in every way.

Love the cans. Thay have some of the Oscar Blue silver cans at my local whole foods but you won't be thinking this is a cheap beer. Something like 10 bucks for a 4 pack as I recall. I'll be looking for this one. The Fat Tire in a can is ok but looses some of its body and bubbles IMO.

Where abouts are you? It's certainly not Miller Light cheap, that's for sure. $10/4 pack seems a bit overpriced, though. I think I paid about $8/6 pack.

It is pronounced like the animals.
Lots of places won't allow glass containers so cans are cool for that. I am looking forward to the new Pils from Avery (in a can).

Great beer from Oskar blues. I was just at their new facility last week and it's pretty amazing. The original machine they used to can is on display – it looks like a medieval torture device! They don't hand can anymore though.

The Oskar Blues Ten Fidy stout goes for about 10$/4 or 6 pack if I remember correctly. Fantastic review guys

Dale's Pale Ale is just a rock solid Pale Ale, perfect for places where glass bottles are not suitable.

Yup, $10 for a 4pk but worth every penny.

Hey guys, hope you haven't forgotten about me. Dale's Pale is my FAVORITE American Pale. Their Old Chub is a nice malty contrast to this brew.
