Episode 108 – Estrella Damm Lager
From the Damm Group in Barcelona, Spain, Estrella Damm is their flagship beer – the first they ever produced, and still the most popular today. This is brewed in the American Adjunct Lager style, which means the barley is cut with something, in this case, rice. This combination of rice and barley gives the macro-brewed light lager beer its character. Unfortunately, despite a decent head and a floral scent, the flavor falls off as is typical with adjunct lagers.
