Episode 102 – Cantillon Classic Gueuze Lambic

Welcome to one of Johnny’s favorite beers – a Cantillon Gueuze. A Gueuze is a blended aged Lambic beer, particularly noteworthy for its fruit notes and intense sour flavor. Tom Peters of Monk’s Cafe gave us a proper education on lambic beers a while back, and ever since, Johnny has been in pure love. This one scores wickedly high – and deservedly so.

    Cantillon is quite a special brewery, and Gueuze is quite a special style. I was fortunate some years ago to be able to try their Cantillon Soleil De Minuit, a one-off batch made in 1999 using Swedish cloudberries. Johnny's reaction to this beer brought back memories of my reaction to their cloudberry lambic!
  • Worst mistake ever, I watched the episode at work, on a Friday morning, in the office with no possibility of escaping to go and try one. Great video guys, made me VERY thirsty. I added it to my "must try" list.
