Episode 101 – Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye

We’re back after our big 100th party, and we’re bringing you a big beer. The Hop Rod Rye, a rye-infused beer from Bear Republic from Healdsburg, CA – the home of other big hitter beers – is made with 20% rye grain and is very hoppy. Rye beers have a very long history, and was an important ingredient in beer up until the 5th century AD. Also called a Roggenbier, Rye Ales are still new to the American public, but something worth some serious consideration.

  • What did they say was the best IPA in America? I am stopping by this weekend and I want to call them on that. If it is Racer 5, I will have to sample Blind Pig or Pliny the Younger next to it!

hey guys this beer is good but my thoughts are the IPA and the Stout are alot better then this one! my fav is the Stout! but the ipa stands up with great IPA's like stone IPA, Russian River Pliny The Elder, Dogfish Head 90 and Ale smith IPA so thats my top 5 IPA's they might be in the top 4 but some others in there are better in my opinion!

well I hope you get to review some of these great beers! cheers guys!
