Episode 098 – Jever Original Friesland Pils

Diedrich Konig founded the Jever brewery, or the “Friesisches Brauhaus zu Jever” over 160 years ago, in 1848. Fast forward to 2009, and they are perhaps the most modern brewery on the planet. The Jever pilsner has extra hops added to it to increase the bitter profile, and its flavor gets two slightly different opinions from the two of us. Watch to see how this one plays out!

    The beer is pronounced “YA-ver”. In my opinion, one of the best Pilsner's ever.
    This beer is right up there with Budweiser Budvar(no relation to the shitty american brand),Augustiner, and other German and Czech varieties. I visited Jever this summer and the brewery is amazing. If you see this beer, BUY IT, you will not be dissapointed. Embrace the sweet bitterness!
