Episode 097 – Hitachino XH

The Hitachino Nest line of beers from the Kiuchi Brewery in Japan has yet to disapoint either of us and the Hitachino XH, an American style Strong Ale (XH stands for “Xtra High”) keeps up the reputation. Matured in “shochu” casks, a distilled alcohol common in Japan (slightly higher in ABV and character than sake) this brew is earthy and wonderful, and scores high – especially from Johnny.
