Episode 092 – Cave Creek Chili Beer

The Cave Creek Chili Beer is easily one of the worst beers we’ve reviewed, infused with pepper oils and a chili pepper in the bottle. Pepper by itself does not a bad beer make – in fact, we’ve reviewed some peppered beer that we’ve loved. However, this self-proclaimed Arizona favorite is not close to our favorite. It’s not a wonder that the founding brewery in Arizona closed – what is a wonder is that a brewery in Tecate, Mexico, is still making it.

    Oh god, I haven't laughed this hard since watching the NA beer episode! Great show guys. I wonder how many other people were trying to guess Dave's score based solely on his facial reactions…. I was glad to see I was close.

    I thought of this episode as I was recording our last Beer Brawl with Esoteric Italian Beers.
    (http://www.simplybeer.com/blog/2009/09/01/beer-…) One we sampled, Del Ducato Verdi Imperial Stout, was made with hot chili peppers. Great beer with some real heat, the peppers worked really well in this beer. Check it out.
