@Russel - I'll take a look when I get into the office on Monday. It's basically an older HD MiniDV 1080i Sony handy-cam which we pipe directly into a Macbook Pro via Firewire. Instead of taping to a MiniDV tape, we currently use iMovie to do a direct-capture to a digital .mov file, which I edit in Final Cut Express, and then use (the now outdated) VisualHub to compress to an .mp4 file. We go with .mp4 because it's universally accepted on all the movie services that TubeMogul supports - as well as our iTunes feed, which plays on iPod Touch and iPhone devices.

We'll probably switch from .mp4 files to a different compression format, because the transform to Flash Video isn't that great - and then instead use blip.tv's auto-transform service to encode the videos to .mp4 when necessary. Since blip.tv feeds our iTunes podcast, that would be acceptable, and allow me to distribute standard .mov files instead.

How's that? :)
