Episode 009 – Apricots, Agave, and Hens!

In this episode we have a hodgepodge of fine beers. Old Speckled Hen, brewed specifically for the 50th Anniversary of the MG Automobile. DeKoninck Belgian Ale, a nice change from the popular Belgian White’s, and Breckenridge Brewery’s Agave Wheat, a refreshing and unique Wheat beer.

Top fermented refers to the yeast used in the brewing. Top fermenting yeasts rise to the surface, generally fair better under warm temperatures and are used in making ales.

Bottom fermenting yeasts are quite the opposite. They ferment at the bottom of the fermenter, do well in colder temps and are used to make lagers.

A few review suggestions from my favorites (one malty, one hoppy and one in the middle):
Stone’s Arrogant Bastard
Bell’s Hopslam
Oskar Blue’s Ten Fidy

wtf! what are you doing putting those off to the side! use the power of editing and finish your beverages before we drive across state and bitch slap you… and take your beer.

Go Pens!

Hey, that club use to be called Revival and I saw Butt Hole Surfers and Bad Brains there. Probably drank Heineken or Rolling Rock in those days. Good luck with Viddler video comment plug in. I gave it a spin on your last show.

I did speak with the owner about the history of the building and it had been owned by one family since I’ve been going there since 1985. Nice view of the Ben Franklin bridge by the way. Also, my video posts get loaded to my Viddler account “iconjohn” not your comments page, thereby depriving your viewers of my wit and wisdom. Boat drinks!

Great show guys! Keep up the good work. If you need the 10-Fiddy, email me and let me know, I can send some your way!

Cheers!
